Welcome to Our Blog!

Hello, fellow pre-med students!

We’re thrilled to introduce “The UAlbany Pre-Med Blog”! No matter where you are on your pre-med journey—whether you’re just beginning or deep into classes and clinical experiences—we’re here to help.

As an extension of the UAlbany Pre-Med Club, this blog will serve as an “up-to-date” resource, keeping you up to date on everything from study strategies and MCAT prep to research opportunities and medical school applications.

We recognize that the pre-med path can be difficult and filled with questions, so we’re here to cover all kinds of topics that fit what you need. You’ll find all sorts of stuff here, from personal stories and expert tips to chats about the latest in medicine, all aimed at keeping you informed and inspired. We’ve made it super easy to browse through our blog by sorting everything into categories, so you can quickly grab the info that’s most relevant to you—whether it’s about clinical experiences, research insights, application tips, or wellness advice. We’ll also be sharing some great pre-med blogs and resources that we use, so you always have the best information and resources at your fingertips.

Just as medicine is ever-changing, so is this blog. We’re going to be constantly updating it with new information, and are open to any suggestions you have on what you’d like us to write about. If you have a particular topic you’re dying to learn more about or a story you wish to tell, we’d be more than happy to hear from you! This blog is for the community, and your suggestions and support can make it even better for other students.

Finally, we just want to take a minute to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day! Since today is all about love, it is also a good reminder to appreciate the amazing organ at the center of it—the heart. With that in mind, our next few stories are going to explore the fascinating world of cardiology. We’ll be sitting down with a cardiologist to learn how they got started and what they did during their journey, and our “day in the life” feature will give you the inside scoop on what it’s really like to work in cardiology. Remember to keep that heart of yours healthy—both in body and mind—and be sure to visit again soon!
